This is driven wild boar hunting in France as continental sportsmen know it: Guns on numbered high seats, packs of trained hounds worked through the block, and fast, high-volume shooting on running boar. The format sits closer to a Spanish monteria or a continental battue than to a British walked-up day. It is built for teams who want volume, structure and a managed estate, not a chance encounter.

The trip is organised by Univers Chasse Peche, a licensed French hunting travel agency based in Toulouse with more than 30 years of experience (Atout France licence n°031950034). You book a fully handled package on a private fenced estate managed for driven hunting, with the logistics, paperwork and on-site team taken care of from arrival to departure.

Why this driven boar hunt

• Only three teams per season. The estate runs a small number of driven trips each year by design. Your team hunts a population that has not been pressured for weeks.
• No trophy fees, no size limit. On the battue format, every wild boar within your quota is shootable, male or female, young or mature. This is driven shooting, not trophy selection.
• Up to three boar per Gun per day. Quota set per Gun, per day, across the team.
• A full estate team. Beaters who know the ground, hound packs, blood trackers on standby after each drive, and butchers processing game on site.

Two formats: battue and French Monteria

Two-day driven wild boar battue (6 to 12 Guns)

The core format. Two full driven days on the estate, Guns on numbered high seats, hound packs released into the block, one or two drives per day depending on results and conditions. Each drive runs roughly four to five hours. The bag is up to three wild boar per Gun per day, no size limit, no trophy fees. All game is processed on site by estate butchers, and some venison can be taken home.

The Monteria format adds species to the day. Hound packs move wild boar, red deer, fallow deer and mouflon toward the Guns at the same time, so shooting opportunities are broader and less predictable. This is the format for teams who want a true multi-species continental driven hunt. Trophy males (red deer stag, mouflon ram, mature boar) are available at published fees for Guns who choose to take them.

How a driven day runs

Guns arrive at the estate the evening before or early in the morning. After the safety briefing, teams are allocated to numbered high seats across the block, each seat with pre-marked shooting angles. Hound packs are released at the signal, and drives run until the agreed bag is reached or conditions call the day. Semi-automatic rifles are permitted within French legal limits, and first-time continental Guns are placed on seats that match their experience.

After the morning session, a three-course lunch is served at the lodge with local wines. Game taken during the drives is processed by the estate butchers. There is no formal tableau, for ethical and reputational reasons.

Accommodation

All accommodation is on the estate, so there are no hotel transfers between dinner and the morning briefing. The hunting lodge provides en-suite bedrooms, a bar, a dining room and an indoor pool, with additional cottages for larger groups. All meals are included throughout the trip, breakfast before the drive, a three-course lunch after the morning session, dinner at the lodge, with open bar.

With only three team slots across the whole season, demand consistently exceeds availability. Typical lead time is 6 to 12 months. Teams enquiring in spring for the following November are in the strongest position.
