One day is a French monteria, the driven hunt with hound packs moving wild boar, mouflon and red deer across a 600 hectare fenced estate. The other is high driven duck shooting at a renowned partner estate, where mallard are pushed high and fast over the pegs. Few packages in France combine the two within a single stay, which is what makes this trip stand out for experienced Guns who want concentrated, active sport.

Day by day programme

• Day 1: Arrival at the lodge, range familiarisation, running boar target practice and clay shooting.
• Day 2: French monteria (driven hunt with hounds) on the estate.
• Day 3: High driven duck shooting at the partner estate, around 90 minutes transfer.
• Optional Day 4: Second monteria day or second duck day, your choice.
• Day 4 or 5: Departure after breakfast.

The hunting methods explained

The French monteria explained

After a morning briefing at the lodge, Guns are transferred to numbered high seats across the estate. Each Gun is briefed on safe zones and species identification before taking position. Multiple dog packs are then released into the block, steadily pushing game toward the line. Depending on conditions, one or two drives are run, typically four to five hours of active hunting. Expect fast, offhand shooting at moving animals, so range practice on arrival day matters. Bag is one male wild boar per Gun, with cull females and young mouflon and red deer included. Trophy males (tusker boar, mouflon ram, red deer stag) are available at the trophy fees below. A realistic figure for experienced Guns is three to five shooting opportunities per person, with no guarantee given the wild conditions. The estate does not organise a tableau, an ethical and reputational choice. Some venison may be taken home.

High driven duck shooting explained

Guns take their pegs as the first drive is called. Three to five organised drives push mallard high and fast, with proper sporting shots throughout. Between drives, retrieving dogs work the falls while a drink and snack are served at the peg line. The session runs three to four hours and closes with a lodge lunch. The allowance is 50 ducks per Gun, which can be pooled across the group, with overages charged at €20 per duck.

The lodge

The main lodge offers 8 en-suite twin or double bedrooms with private bathrooms, a bar and restaurant room with open bar service, and an indoor pool. Two additional cottages (3 and 4 bedrooms) accommodate larger groups, all on the estate. Shooting facilities on arrival include a 50 metre running boar range with camera-controlled impact review, fixed targets and a sporting clay ground, all included free of charge for hunt participants.

Trophy fees

Wounding policy: if an animal is wounded and a deadly wound is confirmed by evidence, the full trophy fee is due and non-refundable regardless of recovery outcome.
